THE ONLY THING BETTER THEN A VACATION IS LIVING IN FORT LAUDERDALE
They don’t call Fort Lauderdale the Venice of America for no reason. More than 300 miles of navigable waterways wind through multimillion dollar estates, citrus groves and the unique and exotic Everglades – attracting watercraft of all sizes. It is the Intracoastal Waterway and the luxurious waterfront homes which trace it, that have earned Greater Fort Lauderdale its reputation as the "Venice of America."
Besides waking up to paradise every morning, Fort Lauderdale can entertain the most cynical person.
The shopping here is unmatched. From the upscale boutiques that line Las Olas Boulevard, to the flea markets and malls, the Fort Lauderdale shopping is sure to tire even the most enthusiastic shopper.
For the sports enthusiast, there are an array of teams to cheer for – Miami Dolphins (NFL), Miami Heat (NBA), Florida Marlins (MLB), Florida Panthers (NHL) and the Miami Hurricanes (NCAA). If you want to be more than a spectator, Fort Lauderdale has many golf courses, tennis courts, public swimming pools, deep-sea diving and great sport fishing.
If you’re an outdoorsman then you are in luck. Besides the award winning beaches, there are plenty of nature trails at local parks that you can walk while observing the local wildlife. Don’t forget how close Fort Lauderdale is to the Everglades. There are airboat rides and crocodile wrestling that is sure to amuse.
The dining here is second to none. Whether you are looking for a romantic candlelit ambiance or a casual pizza joint to take the kids to, you won’t be disappointed.
Fort Lauderdale itself is made up of beautiful neighborhoods as well as many of the charming old-town districts that have kept up their classic styling. It is truly an amazing place to live. The people are pleasant and the atmosphere unrivaled. With average year-round temperatures in the mid-seventies, living in Fort Lauderdale is like living in heaven.
